We’re taking you back to 1986 with this first Throwback picture! This was taken during a family trip to New York City. We were all dressed up and on our way to the theater. I’m personally loving the white socks with black dress shoes on me (Jane) and Audrey! (Left to right: Adam, Mom, Jane, Keith, Audrey)
Here we are in 1989, and please do not ask me what I was thinking with the vest and bow-tie combo because I am wondering the same thing myself! I am pretty sure that this stage is what we’d call the “awkward phase.” I hope I burned this outfit! (Left to right: Dad, Audrey, Mom, Jane, Grandma)
This last photo is from 1991, when we were apparently in a coral/red phase. I guess I was really rebelling with the brown skirt. Here we are again with the black shoes, but luckily we had ditched the white socks by this time! (Left to right: Jane, Mom, Audrey)

Steph
haha…too cute! you all had it going on back then. so did MOMMA! 🙂
tooooo cute!
Jane, you are on the ball! And what great pictures. How fun–a family trip to New York! I’m not sure if I’ll be able to play this week, but I love looking at everyone else’s pictures.
Wow, your mom was good lookin’! 🙂 And I think you all look very spiffy in your NYC outfits.
And I had TWO vest outfits similar to the one above.
Y’all are adorable!
I love that you’re all dressed up for the theater. I took my thirteen year old to NYC for her birthday this spring and nobody dresses up for the theater anymore. Well, there were a few little girls in satin at the Lion King but the two other shows, no ties, frills or patent leather. Great pics.
Great pics! I especially love the first pic! It looks like you guys should all be in a magazine ad or something!
Love the white socks with the little black shoes!
Those are great….as always!! You guys are definitely a picture taking family! I LOVE the vest and bow tie! I tried to wear a similar combo once and my mother gave me that whole, “You Will Not Leave This House Looking Like You’re Mother Could Care Less!”
Now Keith with the Don Johnson thing, totally ‘in’! I think the white socks were very beautiful. Okay, no I don’t, I tried to be positive, but I can’t be about the socks. Y’all, however, are stunning in all of the pics and I keep saying it, gonna say it again, your momma is amazingly beautiful! Happy Throwback (I didn’t scan anything this week, sorry!). xoxo
Ah yes, the white socks with black shoes – I remember doing that as well! Great photos!
atleast your hair styles were not that bad! seems all of my old pictures have crazy hair-dos!
Great Pics! I used to wear white socks with black shoes too! At least your mom didn’t put you in socks with lacey fringe around the ankles. 🙂
Haha, love the black shoes with the white socks!! I forgot to buy new white shoes for the Beast this past Easter, so she wore her white tights with open toed sandals. I’m sure she’ll be making fun of me and how I dressed her when she’s older!! LOL.
I love these throwback thursdays. (I read Steph at AIB) One day I’m going to have to join in.
Love the coral / red phase. even your mom had a style too, Jane =)
I love that your family took pics regularly. Especially with Mom in them. I usually take pics of my kids and have the Mommy hair going on so I do not join in with them. This reminds me to get in on the photo fun too! I am sure my kids would like to see me from ‘back in the day’ one day! 🙂
Love the black shoes groove!!
love the pictures again this week. i am too swamped at work to play this week, but excited to see your pics!
What girl didn’t have the white socks and black shoes at one point? Black shoes, the staple of any 80’s wadrobe! Your family does look like it was for a photo shoot…
The last picture, your mom’s trend is back in….sweater dress, short and belted waist!
Too much fun!
I love it! I think all girls have pic w/ white socks and black sunday shoes. Ya’ll were stylin!
Love it… and your brothers plaid jacket…OMG!!! FUN pictures. Got mine up a bit late today.
Those are great pics, and you were so stylish! Boys look so cute in their jackets, and Mom’s dresses are great.
Even the bow, very IN in 1989, I think I had one in every color. Like metallic blue, fuchsia and that screaming green.
Great photos, thanks for sharing!
Katja
The first picture in N.Y., you all look like a TV show family. Really I’m not joking you look really good, all American family.
Great pictures again this week! I did my TT pictures.

Fun pictures! I’ve probably got a picture or two in the white socks with black dress shoes days as well. Good times. 🙂
the vest thing was totally in back then, i remember being in 6th grade and thinking the vest i wore for school pictures was the coolest thing ever!
Love the TT pictures! It is fun to look back at our past fashion statements! I had the white socks with black shoes thing going on to! 🙂 Mine is up now too – finally! It has been a day!
LOL these are wonderful. you dad and bro really scream “80s!!” in that first pic. 😉
i am sure i made more than a few fashion faux pas myself back then. heck, i still do!
btw, if you haven’t yet entered my t-shirt giveaway contest, please check it out.

thanks. 🙂
Wonderful, wonderful pics. Sharon, you are absolutely gorgeous (inside and out)!!! The girls are blessed to have such an amazing and inspiring mom and likewise, you are blessed to have such thoughtful, special, loving daughters.
Thinking of you guys. My TT post this week is not of me, but of my pooch. Thinking of Jane and Biz made me think that I need to dedicate a TT to my pup. Hugs, Jane…if you’re reading this.
