We’ve been home for 3 days.
3 whole days.
And William, Alexander and Benjamin are just in LOVE with their brother. In LOVE! As a parent, this is the most beautiful sight to see. Your children loving each other. Especially the newest sibling!
But it must be said… it has been absolutely hilarious listening to the things the boys have been asking us and telling us about Henry – or as he has been tagged by the boys, “Henge.”
And the boys are so innocent with their comments and remarks.
My favorite was when William walked in to see me for the first time after having Henry, and there I was with tears in my eyes as the boys greeted their brother… and the hugs and kisses… and the “can I hold him?” asked a hundred times in a row by William and Alexander.
But then William turned to me and said, “Mommy, I thought you said your stomach would be gone after Henry was born?”
Ahh… the innocence (honesty?) of a child.
And something only my son could get away with saying to me!
I will say that all went well with the c-section. It was a much different experience than my 3 previous births. Going into the hospital to deliver on a specific date, at a certain time, has its advantages when you have 3 little ones at home! And even though I’m somewhat confined to the living room and kitchen for the next 2 weeks, having Henry here is absolutely wonderful. Each time I look into beautiful eyes, I ask him, “How have I gone this long in life without you?”
So here we are. 4 boys under 4.
We’re back to 3 cribs. 3 boys in diapers (we’re still working on the potty training with Alexander!). And 2 boys with bottles!
Ah, life is perfect.

cute! i thought i was crazy with 2 kids under 2 (they are a little less than 2 years apart) and hubby being away for the birth of both!
Congrats on the 4th addition to your beautiful family!!!
you are super mom indeed! Way to go!
When I was telling people that you were due/delivering your 4th boy under 4-1/2, they were all “OMG has she lost her MIND?” and I was all “she’s the ONLY one I know that could handle it!” lol At least that’s how you are in my eyes
Glad things are going well!
Welcome Henry!
What a adventure you will have with your 4 little blessings. It is so cool that you are sharing it with us. It is evident that you are so happy and in love with them. Enjoy.
He is sweet! Glad things are going well, and I hope your recovery is quick.
You sound so happy and blissful! How do you manage to make all those ‘inconveniences’ of bottles, diapers and cribs seem so enviable? I sure hope my ovaries were listening as I read this post.
You certainly are blessed to have such a full home! Enjoy those sweet few first weeks with Henry – and remember that in the midst of it all to be sure to take care of yourself!
Oh I just want to reach through the computer screen and smooch smooch smooch his little face. Audrey, he is so precious, and you sound absolutely happy!

Congratulations! Welcome to the fold, Henry.
Lordy! How do you manage. I feel I have a dozen kids with my two.
Oh that’s so wonderful! I love your sweet happy posts. After so many negative comments recieved about people who see me out with my kids (a year apart and pregnant again), I love hearing another mom that wouldn’t have it any other way! Happy settling
Busy and perfect! Just remember to hold a pillow in front of your incision when you laugh or sneeze or cough, and you’ll be fine!

From Dates to Diapers
What beautiful sentiment. I love that the older boys are so enjoying Henry. That’s just very precious.
He is just gorgeous!!!!!
I had a scheduled c-section with my second daughter (first one was an emergency procedure) and although it seemed a tad weird to know the date and time and arrive at the hospital all ready to go, it was SO nice because we could make arrangements for our oldest.
p.s. the stomach comment…HA!
Oh super congrats!! You will have to share tips on how you juggle 4 under 4!!! You are right though, nothing is better than seeing your children love each other. I was so nervous AJ would not adjust well to Ben, but it has been the opposite and I am so thrilled about it! And again, you are right, how did we ever make it this long without the little guys in our lives?
Wow, what an adventure!
I’m glad things are going so well!
