Sharon, Audrey and Jane are professional writers/bloggers/editors/web-surfers and founders of Pinks & Blues – your place for Trendy and Ultra-Hip Daily Family Picks!
Pinks & Blues is ultra-hip. Undeniably trendy. Fabulously fun. Honestly chic. Chicly honest.
Pinks & Blues covers everything. Beauty. Fashion. Style. Entertainment. Books. Food. The Arts. Travel. And of course Parenting. Grandparenting. And Pets.
We spot trends. We find bargains.
We lavish you with Mama Giveaways.
And like you, we are senselessly addicted to anything celebrity.
So how did all this begin?
Sharon had retired from 30 years of teaching high school English and Reading.
Audrey had left the corporate world at Donna Karan International in NYC to raise her boys in her home-state Rhode Island (with husband kicking and screaming)!
And Jane was looking to switch careers from Print Sales to something that defined her passion.
Their backgrounds combined to create a fabulous work trio… Sharon (did we mention she’s the mother of Audrey and Jane!?) had an entrepreneurial streak and writing talent that were bursting to Va-Voom!
Audrey, with her Theatre/Communication/Business concentrations from Brown University, along with her extensive fashion experience at Donna Karan (lucky her, she even got to run the Sample Sales at Donna Karan/DKNY!) was looking to create an outlet for young Moms to keep them in the “trendy-know!”
And Jane, with her History degree from Brown University, her techno-wiz and communication skills, was inspired to make the blogosphere leap!
Over lunches, late-night telephone conference calls, gallons of coffee, and a few beers here and there… Pinks & Blues was born and expanded.
So let us find it for you – everything you need to keep your family trendy and ultra-hip!

SHOPPERS IN EIGHT U.S. CITIES VALET PARK FREE,
COURTESY OF GMC ACADIA
Automaker pays for valet parking at top shopping destinations in eight cities nationwide to promote its new crossover vehicle
DALLAS, April 3, 2007 – Through the end of April, more than 100,000 drivers in eight major U.S. cities will be treated to free valet parking as they pull into their favorite shopping centers, thanks to GMC. In a first-of-its-kind marketing push, the automaker is footing the bill for valet parking at popular shopping destinations in Los Angeles, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco and Tampa as part of the launch of its new Acadia crossover vehicle.
“GMC wanted to find a way to introduce Acadia to busy families. We recognize how difficult running errands can be with small children, and thought we could help make their shopping trips a little easier by picking up the tab for the valet,” said Mary Kubitskey, GMC National Advertising Manager.
During the program, as drivers get out of their car they will be handed a valet ticket promoting “free parking” and the launch of the GMC Acadia. Additionally, more than 3 million full-color valet, hand-issued and machine-issued parking tickets will be distributed directly to drivers in promoting the launch of the vehicle at other locations, reaching GMC’s target market nationwide.
GMC has also chosen to pair the machine-issued tickets with Boom-Ads®, full-color sleeves that slide over the gate arms at the entrances and exits of parking garages. A Boom-Ad is suspended in front of the driver at the moment he or she receives the machine-issued ticket in-hand. The combination makes for a one-two effect, and GMC “domination” of the parking garages.
The campaign is being executed by Dallas-based AdverTickets, a media company specializing in out-of-home advertising and promotional programs. The media planning and buying agencies responsible for partnering AdverTickets with GMC are GM Planworks and Starcom Worldwide, respectively.
About AdverTickets
AdverTicketsTM specializes in Hand-To-Hand Advertising™, providing full-color advertisements placed directly into the hands of consumers where they live, work, play and travel. The nontraditional out-of-home media company’s variety of unique products includes valet and machine-issued parking tickets; Boom-Ads®; hotel key cards; airline, bus and rail tickets and ticket jackets; and currency jackets at check cashing facilities.
AdverTickets allows advertisers to reach restaurant and nightclub patrons, shoppers, travelers, commuters, and general workers to business executives, all day, everyday – often at the point of sale. Recipients are required to physically accept and retain the advertisement. AdverTickets create ground-level exposure while reaching on the go consumers at key points in their daily lives.

Would you be interested in doing a giveaway? We could provide a prize or two if you’d like to feature us?
I just wanted to say that you should think about digitally resizing your group photo (not the fake HTML resize). It’s the complete original photo at 2,336 x 3,504 pixels and a whopping 4,760,678 bytes. It took forever to load.
I just found your site. I love it! I’d love to do a giveaway if you are interested in doing a feature.

Hi,
Congratulations!!
I saw a comment by you (or at least I hope it was you) concerning benedryl for your dog during thunderstorms. I have much the same problem and was wondering how far ahead you give the dosage. In effect, I’m wondering how quickly benedryl kicks in. You’re giving 50mg for your 57lb dog as I remember.

The YakPack includes: non-latex gloves, a motion sickness bag, an absorbent lap pad, two antimicrobial hand wipes, a wipe-all cloth, 1.5 oz. of vomit absorbent deodorizer, a scoop/paddle and a bio-hazard bag for disposal all for under $10.00.
Please visit our website http://www.theyakpack.com and let me know what you think of the YakPack. Thank you, Peggy Phillips yakpack@hotmail.com
