Well, it’s official.
William will be attending Nursery School this fall.
They craft. They sing. They build with clay. They dance. They go on nature walks. They color.
And he will be with kids his own age.
Yes… finally be with kids his own age.
For the past 3 years he has been surrounded by kids who are mostly younger. Namely, his brothers.
First it was Alexander, then Benjamin. And he is FANTASTIC with them. He plays with them and laughs with them and entertains them the best he can.
But this past weekend we were at a birthday party where he played with older kids (they were 4 and 5) and he just had a blast! I turned to Matt and said, “That’s it. This is what he needs.”
We enrolled him today.
He seems very excited, but a bit nervous.
Yesterday he asked my Mom, “Are Grandmas allowed to come to Nursery School?”
“I can come with Mommy and Daddy to drop you off,” she said. “And wave to you when you’re inside playing with your new friends.”
He thought about it for a second. “No, Grandma. I want you to be my friend at Nursery School.”
At least we still have a couple of weeks to get him prepared!
So sweet! I hope he does well! It seems he has had several fantastic teachers for the first few years of his life. I hope his nursery school teacher can measure up! She has BIG shoes to fill! A great Grandma, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Auntie to all and several others (I am sure). His teacher better step up her A-game or she just might be kicked to the curb! haha
Good luck William on this new adventure! I am sure you will thrive with all of your new buddies!!
oh how sweet. At least I know I’m not alone on sending a wee one off. We can cry together….or do a victory dance.
Aww, he will love it! My girs happily waved and went off to play on their first day of nursery school. I, on the other hand, sat in my car and cried! 🙂
How cute. He will love the activities. Good luck handsome little boy!!!
Our family preschool motto, “Send ’em early and often!”
He’ll love it!!
I’m sure he’ll have a great time!
Kiernan starts daycare week after next and when we’ve brought him by he just sort of follows the older kids around watching them to see what they do 🙂
I loved pre-school. Not old enough for real work, but too old for baby stuff. Their little worlds expand so much when they head to pre-school. I cried when my #3 finished his last day. I had been dropping kids off at that pre-school for eight consecutive years. Find a good one because what happens there sticks with them.
Awww! Be prepared to cry! I’ll never forget the first day I dropped Amanda off. She came to the window to wave goodbye to me and I lost it, lol.
I’m sure he’ll be fine once he sees how much fun preschool is!
Awwww, too cute
very very cute! 🙂
Oh, big changes for you! Clark is going to pre-school this year too and it makes me sad because I will miss him, but it will be so great for him!
And grandma’s heart melted.
He will adjust and have such fun with his new friends because he knows his best friend Grandma will be there for after school fun. 🙂

awww, what a sweet story.
i’m sure he will do very well there. we just enrolled my daughter in preschool too. i can’t believe it’s already time for that!
Very sweet!
But just another reminder that they are growing up – very fast. And then it will be Alexander going off to school.
We’re doing the same thing with our 2-year-old. He doesn’t get much interaction with kids older than him and he LOVES it. So he’s doing a one-day a week program for the morning.
